Australian Animal - The Koala

The Koala is probably (along with the Kangaroo) the most widely known Australian animal. It is commonly referred to as a "bear", but in fact it's a marsupial (like the kangaroo).

As the koala's habitat shrinks due to human encroachment so does its population, however unlike other creatures it cannot adapt to change easily. The koala is a fussy eater which means that it only eats specific types of Eucalyptus leaves. Give your own special Australia gift.
